About Service

Porcelain Veneers are the more traditional approach to changing the shape, colour or position of teeth to create a more attractive smile. They are made of thin layers of porcelain that are crafted by a lab technician to cover the front surface of a tooth.  They can be used to transform just one tooth or an entire smile.

Porcelain Veneers are very durable and help to achieve a natural result as they are made to look just like your own teeth. A small amount of enamel is removed from your own tooth to allow the veneer to look as natural as possible.

You may be interested in porcelain veneers if:

  • You have chipped or broken teeth
  • Your teeth are discoloured
  • You have gaps between your teeth
  • Your teeth have become worn down
  • You have misaligned or irregularly shaped teeth

Frequently Asked Questions

Some of the frequently asked questions

What does the treatment involve?

A veneer is completed over two appointments. At the first appointment your tooth will be prepped and shaped. Impressions will be taken which are sent to a skilled dental laboratory who will make the veneer. After 2 weeks the veneer will be ready and cemented on to the tooth.

What is the difference between a crown and a veneer?

Veneers are used mainly on the front teeth which are visible when you smile. A crown is used on back teeth or if the tooth is heavily broken down. A veneer is a thin shell which covers the front surface of the tooth. A crown is more like a cap which fits over the whole tooth.

Can I still whiten my teeth?

Porcelain veneers do not whiten. We always recommend whitening your teeth before getting a veneer so it can then be matched up to the same shade as your teeth.
